LeTip of Hudson Valley (New York) is a business networking group, in which each member assists the other members in building their business by referring qualified leads (tips). The term "business networking" means specifically that the group exists to serve business that tend to rely on referrals.
Business networking is an international phenomenon; LeTip International was one of the first major business networking organizations in the country, and the first to spread to other countries. LeTip spread because it provides a very valuable service for small companies, and it is very focused on the growth of its member's businesses.
Some traditional business groups, such as Rotary, Kiwanis, and the like also provide business networking opportunities, but certainly not to the extent LeTip does, nor is it considered proper to deliberately network with fellow business owners during meetings at these other groups. On the other hand, at LeTip meetings, you are expected to network with other members at the meetings, and failure to provide tips on a regular basis is grounds for termination. The motto says it all "Put Dollars in Your Pocket".
